Each year Summerson Goodacre stages the Security Industry Awards Ceremony. In keeping with last year, this event took place in the afternoon of the Systems in the City Conference. TD Waterhouse kindly sponsored the Ceremony, whilst John Motson, Chief Sports Commentator for the BBC, presented the Company Awards.

In John's unique style, he entertained the audience with stories from the football world. He explained the format of  the forthcoming World Cup and listed the various groups, and provided an insight into which teams may progress to the next rounds. After a detailed overview of this years World Cup, John invited questions from the audience, which he answered from his wealth of football knowledge.

Last year saw the creation of a new award by Clay Harris of the Financial Times. It is based on Clay's Mudlark column in the FT, and is awarded for "Exceptional Performance in the Back Office".

Once again, this year, Clay presented this award in person to the lucky winner.

Viscountess Mackintosh of Halifax,  kindly offered to present the TD Waterhouse Award for "Exceptional Customer Service", whilst Sir Michael Savory presented the awards for "Sales Executive of the Year" and the "Highest Rated CEO"
