Debate - Introduction

"This house believes the role of the dealer in the City will become redundant by the end of this decade"


After the morning coffee break, the conference moved into a debate. Sponsored by Fidessa, and moderated by Michael Wilson, the controversial subject of the Dealer's future was debated. Kishwer Aziz & Mike Jones spoke for the motion, whilst Brian Tora & Simon Brickles spoke against the motion.

After an initial introduction by Michael Wilson, each speaker had 10 minutes to put their point of view to the audience.

At various stages throughout the Debate the audience were asked to use the Electronic Voting equipment to register their individual opinion. The results of these polls were displayed at each stage, showing how the 4 speakers were influencing the audience.
